Priority Species Monitor: Manyoni

Close to the Drakensburg mountains, I grew up on a farm. This allowed me to be surrounded by animals, nature and adventure constantly. From a young age it was engrained in me that we must respect and love the land. This has largely shaped the person I am - it also sparked my love of animals!

About

Jacqueline Edwardes

In my third year of Zoology at Rhodes University, I was fortunate to do a project on how young elephants learn the social structure of their herd at Shamwari Private Game Reserve. Through observing the gentle giants of the African bush I was sold on the idea of working in the conservation and wildlife research world. It is a huge honor to be working for Wildlife ACT where I can learn new skills about conservation and wildlife monitoring all whilst being surrounded by like-minded people equally eager to learn about the bush!
