Dylan manages Wildlife ACT’s Southern Drakensberg Project, overseeing Cape Vulture and Bearded Vulture conservation across the Maloti-Drakensberg and surrounding areas. With an Honours degree in Environmental Management and a background in environmental consulting, he brings hands-on field management and stakeholder engagement to one of the organisation’s most vital vulture conservation landscapes.
Dylan grew up across Botswana, South Africa, and Zambia, where an upbringing in diverse natural environments shaped a deep passion for conservation. He completed an Honours degree in Environmental Management at Rhodes University, with training in vegetation sampling and rehabilitation, and went on to work as an environmental consultant before joining Wildlife ACT in 2025.
As Southern Drakensberg Project Manager, Dylan is based in Underberg and manages Wildlife ACT’s team working across the Maloti-Drakensberg Park and surrounding landscapes.
His responsibilities span Bearded Vulture nest monitoring, Cape Vulture monitoring, emergency response to poisoning incidents, safe feeding site maintenance, camera trap monitoring, landowner and stakeholder engagement, fire response, and volunteer hosting and event management.
Outside of work, Dylan enjoys hiking, discovering new coffee shops, and has recently taken up paddle boarding.
“I have always had a passion for the environment and enjoy the ‘boots on the ground’ type of work.”
