I have made it my mission to do what I can to save African wildlife and help restore it to what it once was. Our wildlife is a defining part of the identity of this continent, and it brings me joy to play a part in its conservation.
Bongani Khumalo was born in a community bordering Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park (HiP) and, from a young age, dreamed of working on a reserve like HiP. He is a qualified NQF2 Field Guide, holds a diploma in Nature Conservation, and has over eight years of experience in the conservation field. He now works as a Black Rhino Monitor on HiP with Wildlife ACT.
Bongani's inspiration comes from his deep connection to the area, and memories of what Zululand used to look like when he was a child. "I have made it my mission to do what I can to save African wildlife and try to restore it to what it used to be. I know that our wildlife is a defining part of the identity of this continent, and it brings me joy to play a part in its conservation."
